I just made up the term "Jump Scar" [12 May 2008|09:23pm]
This weekend was the Emerald City Comicon. I got to hang out with mal, hope, erik, gabe, local comic friends and others. It was all a beautiful, lovely time.

Here is the copic version of my mother's day gift:

this is a thing for my mom. I'll probably color it with copics, but I just did this so I would know what colors to get.

The High Water Mark [31 Mar 2008|03:13am]
I'm not gonna lie; I had a pretty good hair day. To celebrate, I didn't go anywhere and made this ridiculous drawing:

We're here together, together here we are. [28 Mar 2008|12:11am]
Like an out of control nerf-truck full of garlic-eating, fur-less cats, we had some surprise cold hit us last night. Corey says that it snowed for an hour. When I'm all snuggles up in my cozy-time bed-place and the weather is icy-tittles and I don't have the requisite number of thermally correct fluffy-blankeys, I get the opposite of fever dreams, where I stay awake and cry softly into my pillow for the pain of chilly feet. What business is it of cold to suddenly barge into my room after a nice long spread of almost-springtime fun-in-the-sun? None! Know your place, high pressure system!

The sun was out all day today, but it was still cold! What nonsense!

When it's cold and I've been walking, at a determined brisk pace, up and down hills, my nose starts to run like its water just broke. It's embarrassing and UNCONTROLLABLE. Running noses would be on my hate list if I ever did one. That and not kittens.

When we're in our 50's, we'll all look back and appreciate the candor I've displayed here today.

Last week, I decided to get away from it all and spent a while at Claire's place. I find it refreshing that she can put up with me. My face got dog-licked a lot of times (by her dogs). One night, we were too lazy to go anywhere and we ate plain brats for dinner. Another night, we weren't lazy and we drove 5 1/2 hours to get bubble tea. It's really good bubble tea. Most nights we sat in Claire's little chairs and watched shows about proper building engineering and extreme makeovers while trying to draw pictures. We also watched High School Musical. Claire is in love with Zack Efron.

I'm back now, though. There is this intensely long list of video games that I've been playing lately. I've decided not to talk about it.

Thumb Tax [10 Mar 2008|01:10am]
My hair is getting long again. I keep leaving lost hairs on the wall when I take a shower. They make animal shapes and pictures. It's like a hair-a-sketch. It's sort of gross. I actually get some inspiration from it, though.

This shit just got real. [27 Feb 2008|10:43pm]
I've been back from CA for a while now. I've been really bad at getting back to people, I know. I'm really sorry! Work is slowly killing me.

It was Mal's birthday last week and I didn't tell him happy birthday on the day.

Happy late birthday, Bryan O'malley.

I still totally love you, man, seriously. I saw that Shojo Beat at kinokuniya today, but I couldn't bring myself to buy it because some Japanese dudes were looking at me and snickering while I flipped through it. Also, they were playing that Beck song (the manga one) on the store radio and I thought it was funny that anyone would play that song seriously, especially in the USA, since they sing, terribly, in English. But I still have a soft spot for it because the entire last part of the last episode of the series was about Seattle.

Anyway, luckily I've had brief moments to draw some stupid, satisfying shit:

Also, I typed this in Visalia and decided it was stupid, but Livejournal SAVED IT and brought it back up when I tried to post again. I'm not fighting it:

There is something about the air here that likes to shoot invisible little monsters into my nostrils who like to hang out and party. They only like sinus parties. I just shot some liquid stuff up there. I hope that's like a sinus monster party foul.

There is always a period of time that is never good to revisit when you return home and sift through your old belongings. Pre-puberty is usually still amusing - like finger paints or pictures of you in diapers and Christmas stockings. Anything that is easy enough to remember clearly is usually pretty embarrassing. Though, I bet there are those jerk kids who still think everything they did 6 years ago is totally awesome. Corey Lewis.

Anyway, I found a bunch of my old comics and things. This was in the pile:

- A near complete collection of Reboot trading cards.
- Some "Reign of the Supermen" Comics. Especially ones with Steel and Superboy.
- So many Aliens, Predator or Aliens Vs. Predator comics. I went through a phase that started to end when the most recent movies came out.
- A lot of Spawn comics. Enough to finally make an honest, educated judgement about this totally lame series.
- An issue of Oh My Goddess!
- Starjammers
- The Malibu Street Fighter #1

A Girl In a Red Hat [04 Feb 2008|10:30pm]
I'm watching a show on the discovery channel where a guy just pulled the heads off of a bunch of grasshoppers, stuck their bodies on a stick and ate them. A grasshopper kabob. It's a show about surviving in the desert. Surviving is awesome.

I'm back in Visalia, California, visiting my mother for a week. She bought a house. We've never had a house. I think my 28 year old self would have had a much more romantic time of this place than my 17 year old self did. Being an adolescent is a difficult thing.

My hometown hasn't really changed that much. There are still large fields of grass waiting to be settled. Still scores of wandering youth looking for something more exciting to do on a Sunday afternoon than go to the mall.

I'm sleeping on the same air mattress that I used during my stay in Massachusetts. It still won't inflate fully. Fitting.

Now there's another episode about surviving on a deserted island. I've always had a fantasy about being stranded on a deserted island.

Note to self: Buy a multi-tool, take a trip on a leaky boat in the south-pacific.

My mom had a bunch of whiskey in the cupboard. I'm kind of drunk, if you couldn't tell. Slurring text and all.

We're going to the beach tomorrow. Later!

Holy Shit! Steve sent Corey, Brandon and I a bunch of 1 inch pins with some of our artwork on it, out of nowhere! A Dicecat pin package! There were also some free music card things that I don't really understand. But they were free. Awesome! Thanks Steve.

I would take pictures, but my camera is dead.

Corey and Brandon aren't even home. Maybe I'll just keep their pins for myself. HA!

HMS Bounty [20 Jan 2008|11:46am]

Page 11.

I'm still sick, but a lot less so. I'm down to hacking coughs and mild stuffy noses! Anyway, now that I feel better: no more stupid screenshots of actionscript and more comics.

While I was sick I laid in bed a lot and watched episodes 2 through 5 of the Star Trek movies. I figured out that you could play a drinking game that was based on how many times they said "The Needs of The Many" or "The Needs of The One" - which is like every ten seconds.

There's also, obviously, a secret love triangle between Spock, Kirk and Bones. Bones is the third wheel, though. Poor bones. No wonder he's always fighting with Spock.

Sick Dayz [18 Jan 2008|11:33am]
I feel pretty horrible. I hate being sick. I keep having these fever dreams that are about sleeping and the correct way to do it. It always involves some arbitrary thing, like shaking my head in just the right way before I put it on the pillow but I never do it right. So I just end up moving my head back and forth all night long.

The worst part is that I had a deadline at work today, but it's hard to write this:

when your head is constantly swimming in sinus fluids and it feels like there is a vice strapped to your forehead. Ugh! Drippy Noses all night long! Get to work White Blood Cells!
